BDSM Sex Toys
BDSM is known to strengthen relationship among couples. It is a kind of sexual play where one partner plays the role of a lead while keeping control over the other partner. To be more specific, one person stays on the top and keeps the other one at the bottom, handcuffed and restrained. However, mutual consent among partners matters since without it the entire course of session is not worth enjoying.
After a couple agrees to role-play their individual roles, the slave or bottom partner has the capability to halt or play slow as the session continues. The most common items used during a BDSM session include shackles, handcuffs, hand wraps, shackles, Eye covers, restraint training sets, chains, Silicone ball gag, Wrist-Ankle bondage, Pleasure tape and much more.
BDSM Terms You Must Know
Scene
A scene can be defined as a previously planned, negotiated, communicated, and consented to BDSM event. In simpler terms, it is the main event during which all the consented terms are put into physical action. A lot of planning is involved in setting up a scene. The planning ensures that everyone in the act feels comfortable.
Safe Words
Before a scene begins, it is crucial to set safe words. One of the main reasons behind setting up safe words is because the scenes may get way too intense. The session gets powerful enough to bring a lot of emotions and tears up, along with a lot of screaming (majorly possible).
This is helpful for dominants as it helps them know the limits of their sub. During a BDSM session, it is always recommended to go by a green/yellow/red system along with a safe word so that there are two ways to stop and keep going. (Ex: Yellow means “I'm close to this being too much, but it's good right now.")
Top and Bottom
The term top can be used in many ways. However, in terms of BDSM, the top is usually the human in the giving role. Meaning, they are the ones who apply stimulation to one another and (in a previously consented to conversation) guide their bottom through a scene.
Similarly, the word bottom has different meanings in different contexts, but in BDSM, a bottom is usually on the receiving end of all the scene goodness — pain, humiliation — you name it! Generally, in a scene, it's the bottom's job to appease the tops (once again, all of this consented ahead of time, and safe words are ready and available).
Aftercare
The intense nature of BDSM makes it crucial for the people involved to prioritize and check in on each other. Aftercare is the intentional time after a scene when the people involved do what they need to do to take care of the other person’s wounds or any injury that happens during the session. This can look like applying ice packs, taking some time to yourself, cuddling and talking, smoking a joint, eating a big snack — it is always different and specific for.
When it comes to aftercare, it is not an option or suggestion— it's a must. Also, remember that aftercare isn't just necessary for bottoms or submissive — a scene can be just as emotionally intense for dominants as it is for the submissive.
Pre-scene consultation or negotiation, safe words, and aftercare are all in place in a healthy BDSM dynamic.
Types of BDSM Toys:
There are many different types of BDSM toys, and the specific toys that are used can vary depending on the preferences and interests of the individuals involved. Some common types of BDSM toys include:
Restraints
These are devices used to restrict a person's movement, such as handcuffs, ropes, shackles, and spreader bars. They can be made of a variety of materials, including metal, leather, and silicone, and are used to bind the wrists, ankles, or other parts of the body.
Whips, Crops and Paddles
These are implements used to deliver a controlled amount of pain or sensation to the skin. Whips have a flexible, plaited leather, or synthetic fiber handle, with a number of cords or thongs attached to the end. Crops and spanking paddles have a shorter handle and a flat, broad striking surface.
Gags
These are devices used to silence a person, or to prevent them from biting or swallowing. They can be made of a variety of materials, including leather, rubber, silicone, or metal, and are worn around the head, over the mouth, or in the mouth.
Blindfolds
Blindfolds are devices used to deprive a person of their sense of sight. They can be made of a variety of materials, including silk, leather, or satin, and are worn over the eyes, blocking out light and visual stimuli.
Collars
These are devices worn around the neck, and can be made of a variety of materials, including leather, metal, or fabric. They can be decorative, or have a functional purpose, such as attaching a leash or other restraints.
Nipple Clamps
Nipple Clamps are devices used to apply pressure to the nipples, either for the purpose of sensation play, or to restrict blood flow. They can be adjustable, or have a fixed pressure, and can be made of a variety of materials, including metal, leather, or silicone.
